Perhaps the Last Post for 2009

Though this blog will be picture-less, I had to get at least one more post in before the new year begins. Our Christmas was absolutely fantastic. It helps that I am married to the best person who ever roamed the earth. My lands, I don't know how he loves me so much... but he does.

As you all (or most of you) may have known, I had to work Christmas day. It was a fun day to spend with my patients and perhaps it is that way because I take care of people who get to know me, not just as a nurse, but as a true care-giver. I feel that working where I do, you get to know your patients a lot better than you would if you worked in a hospital. Maybe some wings in the hospital offer a more extensive stay (my dads nurses are an example), and those nurses too would have hopefully had a better time working such a family oriented holiday.
It was fun, though I couldn't wait to get home to be with B.

As I said, we had a great holiday. I am pretty sure that every gift I got for B is going to be returned, but he is a hard person to shop for. Me on the other hand... I am all to easy to please. B got me some knitting tools. I am a self taught crocheter, so now, on to becoming a self taught knitter. I really cannot wait. However, I am still finishing some hats that I want to give to some loved friends and family for Christmas... knitting will have to wait.

We both bought each other some video games and video game equipment (Wii fit plus!). I got B what I thought was a bad ass remote controlled helicopter, but he is going to return it. I think because he found it cheaper online than what I payed for it. B got me and himself some shirts. He also got me pearls. They are beautiful. I will photo them as soon as we find our battery charger for our camera.

The dogs seem to love their tent with tube toy that we got them. This item is really meant for human children, but it suits my furry critters just fine. Gordon actually did laps through the tube after we set it up. He is such a sweet pup. Arnold is not so sure about the tube... the tent, he doesn't mind. He will actually go in their without any coaxing.

In other news... I made some good bucks on my hats. I received an order for 7 hats and made over $100.00. That was pretty cool. This experience has inspired me to perhaps start a business similar to Raw Chickens where I will have a blog of nothing but hats and scarves... maybe even mittens and little kid winter booties... not sure yet. I have a lot to look into, like my small business owners license, plus I am hoping that if I site my patterns, both the free ones I have found online and the ones that I have purchased in a book, that I won't piss off other women and men out their who have posted their patterns to be used for free. I would basically just be charging for my labor and yarn costs. I don't care to take credit for anyones patterns. All of that kind of stuff makes me nervous, perhaps nervous enough to not actually start a business at all. It is a good idea though, and one that I know I would enjoy. I guess I am just a chicken.
Bah-gock!

In other news, B and I and our neighbors are going to start P-90 X in January. Perhaps this will jump-start us into looking good in time for summer. I have got to get in better shape because I plan on doing a hell of a lot of road and mountain biking this year. I really can't wait. The Little Red Riding Hood bike ride will be here before we know it! That ride is an absolute blast!

On a more serious note. Things at work have been pretty good lately. It is so touching to care for the elderly, especially as they start to near the end of their lives. One lil' gal just passed away on the 27th, and I will miss her and her family immensely. They are wonderful people. Though I was not the nurse on with her as she passed away, her family made it a point today to tell me that I was the 'heart of her care at Terrace Grove.' I was so very complimented and touched. It made me realize that I really do make a difference, every day. These are things that I need to remember on the days that I am completely burnt out at work. Just thought I would share that with you all, whoever is still reading this.

What else can I tell you? I don't know that there is much. B and I will not be making it to Provo again this year. I do have gifts for the families south of us... I am just going to have to mail these fun little items. I hope that one and all had fun at their various family/friend holiday functions.

Happy Holidays one and all.
To a Better and Brighter New Year!

I LOVE Being a Lady...

Being a Lady allows you certain privileges. Especially on Saturday when you don't have to work at your Lady job.
On the best Saturdays off I get to lounge on my leather couch. I get to curl up in my Zebra Snuggie, switch on Lifetime movie network, and eat pastries.
I get to enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee as I indulge in my world of Saturday comfort.
I am able to ignore the puppy seen on my right.
And before I begin my Lady Saturday? I sleep in way longer than my wife and allow her to slave away making big bucks on her talents.
I just peacefully sit and enjoy my stories.
Later this evening the only thing that will have changed is my beverage.

Ta-Dah!... Finally a Blog!

Things have been busy!!! But today I finally blog.
I have decided to show off some of the Christmas decor in our wonderful house.
Below is a picture of all the the Christmas stuff we are putting on top of our new entertainment center. Above that is the very Christmasssy "All in the Family" on our TV. Seriously I don't know why I was watching that.
Below is a close up of a snow couple that Bonnie gave me and B last year. There is a spot that you can push and they sing and dance. Pretty cute.
That there Bonnie keeps us in some really cute decorations.
Below here is another cute lil' snowman. He is hugging a throw. My sweet aunt Dana gave this to B and I for Christmas this year at our family party (which was a blast... thanks again Arty and Opera!).
At last, here is our tree. I cut the star off in my pic, but you get the gist of it. I love our tree. It is small and simple. It sucks that it is not pre-lit, so putting lights on it is really annoying, but luckily I married the best man alive and he took on that chore. What a guy.
I decided to give you a close up of the Christmas sign my very creative sister Raw made. She gave one to everyone in our family. She is just so clever. I am so happy that we are sisters. As far as sisters go, she is the best.
Below is the present candy jar that the Christmas sign leans up against. We don't have anything to hang the sign up with at the moment so it rests against the candy jar. I love the candy jar. My dad gave it to me. I think he and Bonnie got one for everyone to have on his second to last Christmas. I love that he did that. We all have something wonderful to decorate our houses with that will forever remind us of him
Miss you Dad!
And below here, my creative Raw strikes again. She made Christmas bows for all the little girls in our family and she brought one too many. I told her that I would love to have it, even though I won't wear it. It is just pretty. So I have stuck it in our tree for now.
And finally I have to represent B's stocking that his aunt Dorothy made for him when he was a little boy. I think she made one for him and all of his siblings. B's is in pretty good shape. He took very good care of it.
I had to get a close up of the face. Though I think it is very cute, I also think that this Santa looks a little 'fruity' if you know what I mean.
B loves him no matter what his preferences are... what a guy!
So our family got together for the Christmas party on the 12th. It was so much fun. It was much better than last year, when I don't think we did anything together at all. We all really dropped the ball. B and I showed up to Arty's first at about 2:00. We hung out and talked and played with his girls and just had a good time. Raw and Rambo + family showed up not too long after and the chatting/hanging continued. Delaware and Alaska showed up much later, but we still loved EVERY minute we were able to spend with them. I don't think they knew how early that they could have come, but it was still a great time with them.
Dana came with them. Bonnie showed up last. She had a lot on her plate that day.
It was a wonderful night that went by way too fast. I really can't wait for the next family party. I love my siblings all very much and I am so happy that this first Holiday get together without both our Mom and Dad was successful. Things went so well it is hard not to feel as if Mom and Dad were right there in the house with us. Oh how I miss them and their advice.
I love my whole family so very much! How lucky I am.
I hope all is well elsewhere. I will be a better blogger.
Much love to all.

I Survived!

B and I got up at 3AM today. B had to be to work by 4:45 AM for the sales. We decided to try our luck at Kohls and then I went to BestBuy (by myself).
Kohls was a crapshoot. B then went to work, and I TOTALLY ROCKED at BestBuy.
All I can say is that B is damn lucky that I am so good.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Now it is Christmas time.
Bring it on.

59

Today is my mom's 59th birthday.
Happy Birthday!
Below is a photo of her as a child. I am not sure of her age, but she sure is cute!

And below here is another picture of my mom that I have ALWAYS loved. I don't know much about it, but I remember whenever I have seen it I always think about her hair and how good it looks. It also looks especially red in this photo.
My mom, is gorgeous.
I miss her very much. I want her to know how wonderful she is.
I would love to talk about her great success story; her family.
Love you mom! Hope you are partying with all of Heavens finest!

So I Guess I am Boring

I got up today and did dishes, made coffee, made malt-o-meal, ate malt-o-meal... just did all of the mundane normal morning stuff.
I then sat down and blog hopped. I just kept pushing the 'next blog' button. I have now come to the conclusion that:
I am boring.
Many people might think that this is good. Most of those people are drama queens and kings who crave and need constant emotional stimulation.
But here are more reasons for why I do indeed know that I am boring:
I am almost 30 and have not finished school yet. I work as a nurse in the same place with the same people and am severely under-appreciated/under-paid for a job that really is hard.
I don't have kids, I don't have parents... and I miss my parents more than ever lately.
I guess I need a pity party which is what I am having.
I just can't help but notice that so many people make a difference.
Me? I just exist.
Most of the time I feel like an after-thought. Every now and again, and usually at work, I know that I am needed.
I guess this all boils down to (really) missing my parents, and lately my dad.
He always called and usually made me feel that I was doing the right thing and was at the right time and place in my life... at least that is what I remember.
At any rate, I hope all is good with everyone and that you all have a good Thanksgiving.
B and I will celebrate that day together with our pups.
The turkey is optional.
Much love.
Sorry for the boo-hoo blog.

My Step Mom has Struck Again!

In the mail the other day we received a ticket from our post office telling us to pick up a package. It was from my Step-Mom, she always sends me the nicest/cutest stuff!
She sent me my first, one and only, Thanksgiving decoration:
Pretty darn cute huh!
Below here is a photo of Arnold. He is still alive. I just wanted to put a picture of him up!
What kind of puppy mom would I be if I neglected to put a photo up of Gordon? Answer: a BAD puppy mom! So here is the other pup!
Below here is a new scentsy that I purchased for our bedroom. It is a medium sized warmer and is super cute. Even B says that it is a good warmer. I picked this one because I knew he would like it... and I was right.
At this moment we are melting the scent 'cozy fireside'. It is definitely one of my favorite scents!
In other news.
I have been having super busy days at work lately but they also seem to be never-ending! Every day that I have worked this week I have either had a student or been training someone. Tomorrow will be my first and only shift this week where I get to actually work alone! I am very excited. Normally I don't mind having students, but all of the sudden another school decided to send us their students too, so every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I have had a student. It used to just be Fridays. As the semesters near an end though, the clinical shifts stop.
This week I have been training a male nurse. He is egotistical and EXTREMELY silent gassy in the mornings. On Tuesday while training, I had to leave the med carts 4 times because he was laying some gnarly smells that practically bit my nose off!
And NO he won't be reading my blog, so PLEASE nobody call B or me and tell me to take this off! This is the latest going ons in my life... I don't want to short change anyone on my experiences.
In other news, I am making Christmas presents and they are going very well!
Love to all!

A Scary Situation!

This is Arnold. He is one VERY sweet pup! He gave me a scare of a lifetime today!
Here is the story.
I got home from work today. I came in and took the dogs outside. We came back in the house and I then decided to take some pizza boxes to the garbage. When I came back in, I snuck up on the dogs and scared them! That was funny. I laughed and I am sure that they were doing the doggy version of laughing. We then all ventured into the kitchen where I got them a doggy treat. They had been good boys while we were at work, so they got a treat.
As they took their treats from my hands, I turned to go upstairs and make our bed when I heard a strange noise come from Arnold. It sounded like he couldn't breathe! :(
I was super scared. Then he tried to scratch at his neck and mouth.
I quickly dropped everything I was holding and slapped him on the back of the head and neck. His treat had been lodged in his throat. The slapping LUCKILY brought it up to the back of his mouth.
I pulled the treat out, and he happily grabbed the slimy treat from my hand and ate it.
I was scared as crap that he was hurt, but happy as crap that I saved him.
I dunno what I would do without that little guy.
I feel very lucky today.

I LOVE Our Boys

While I was at work today, B stayed home and did some house work, but he also caught these cute pictures of our puppies. They look like they are holding hands... well, paws.
I love these last two photos of them!
I am so happy they get along!
Things have been good and boring up here in our neck of the woods. We really haven't done too much. I have been working on Christmas presents and just hanging out.
B keeps reminding me to get registered for next semester, I know I need too, and I will... but I really don't want to. I am so close to graduating... but so far too.
I dusted/washed our room from ceiling to floor on Friday. It was my day off and I spent it doing laundry and cleaning... typical.
So as you can see we are two very boring people. I kind of like it that way.
Love to everyone!

Lynne, I am not as THIN as YOU Think! :)

HAHAHAHAHAHA! My lower lip in this photo is actually my tongue!!
I took this picture tonight and laughed until I cried.
...B however, did not laugh as hard as I did.
Love you all!

2 Pictures of Me?...

So I had two requests for people to see my new glasses actually on my face. I hate taking photos of myself because I usually look like a dufus... and I still do look a little goofy.
The first photo I was too lazy to go and get the camera so I tried to just take one with my computer photo-booth. That photo sucked. So I got my fat-A up and took a couple of pics.
At any rate, here these little gems are.
And finally, a picture I can live with. AND you can finally see that they are purple.
Alas, there are my new specs on my face.

Beardless Doggies and New Specs!

So our puppies were in need of hair cuts. Both of them were matted to the max, especially in their beards. Our poor babies now don't have beards to sport with pride any longer.
They are still super cute though.
Here is a close-up of Arnold:
And here is a close-up of Gordon:
Gordon kind of looks like a deer. They get really cold now, so they have to wear their sweaters. I even made them a couple more, however, one is way too big and the other is way too small. I dunno what I am gonna do with the way too small one yet, but the big one has been taken in and kind of fits them now.
On to other things.
I went to an appointment with my optometrist and found that my vision has not changed for 2 and 1/2 years. That was good to hear.
So I bought another pair of glasses so that I have options now.
Below is picture of both the glasses side by side.
Below here is a close-up of my old pair. They are still really cute and I was thrilled that I didn't need to replace the lenses! :)
Below here is the new pair. They are really cute.
I know that they look like they are black frames, but they are actually a dark purple. The stems have both orange and a metal silver on them. The part of the frame that faces my face is also orange. I love them.
I never would have thought that I would own a pair of glasses that are purple, silver and orange, but alas, I do.
Did I mention that I love them?... Because I do!
And again, in other news.
I am super sick with a head cold from hell. I have had the worst day today with it because it too has been coupled with cramps from hell. Oy Vey!
I am not sure why but I even took Mucinex today and that stuff usually rocks, but today it did not work for me at all. I think that is why today has been so bad.
B has been wonderful. He made chicken noodle soup from scratch and has basically waited on me hand and foot. He is such a sweetie! I married well.
The day is almost over, and work tomorrow. I guess all is well.
Much love to everyone!

Indio Phi8h

B and I had the greatest time in Indio for the Phish Festival 8. I have some more pictures than what is on this blog on my camera phone, but I cannot up load them from the phone to my blog.
B and I set out to Provo on Tuesday. It was an uneventful drive. We had the car packed to the max and the puppies where with us.
We got to B's parents house at about 9 o'clock PM. B had some home work to get done so he stayed up until 3 AM getting his tests done. This was an issue, as we had planned to leave at 5 AM to head for sunny California.
We left at 9 o'clock AM. It was okay though. We had a great drive even though...
Yep, the picture above is us stuck in Beaver county somewhere, and what you see above is what we saw for about 1/2 hour. No moving. Just sitting in cars and hangin' out. Below, you see a slow action picture out B's side of the windshield.
After driving through all of that we finally made it to some beautiful red rock and the sun was already starting to come out!
Below is another photo of the pretty red rocks!
As things started to get brighter, B began to regret not having sunglasses. He took mine off of my face and improvised:
Looks pretty good.
We spent the night in Barstow from Wednesday to Thursday. It was a pretty rundown pit of a place. Barstow is just not pretty. On our way there though we did pass the worlds largest thermometer, sorry folks, not pics.
We woke at a pretty good time in the morning on Thursday and when we went to load up our car I took a photo of this tree taking a leak.
Pretty impressive, those California trees are pretty darn talented.
From Barstow to Indio it was about a 2 hour drive. Beautiful though. We got to Indio and thought that we would have to wait in a forever long line. No lines. The grounds didn't open until 12:00 PM and we arrived at 10:00 AM, so we had some time to kill. Oh yea, and there was NO line. So the security check people decided to really check the cars extremely thoroughly. They weren't allowing drugs, glass bottles, or people who didn't pay for a ticket.
There were a lot of people who had to return their bottled beers and wines or let those items get confiscated. At any rate, we got through just fine and got our camp set up.
Every morning these were the palm trees just outside our tent.
And again, more palm trees. It was absolutely beautiful.
The venue grounds were beautiful as well. As you walked into the grounds this is what was seen:
Vendor tents and yes, a ferris wheel.
Some nice stranger took a picture of us. Aren't we the cutest lil' hippies ever?
The next four pictures are all of the band. They were amazing and I cannot wait to go to Miami!
Yes they are putting on four shows over new years. We hope to go to all four.

When we got about 2 hours away from Provo yesterday, I looked out the window and this was what I saw:
The moon looked much bigger in person, but I wanted to try to get it in a photo.
We were both happy to be heading home, but sad to not have the festival to look forward to anymore. It was great to see our puppies.
Thank you Liz, Jason, B's Momma and B's Poppa for watching the boys. They love you all so much and I am sure that they miss you like crazy.
On the way home to Smithfield this morning, Gordon decided to ride where my feet would normally go. I brought the blanket up to make him more comfortable.
Doesn't he look so cute?
What fun! I hope I didn't bore you all.
Much love.

My Latest Creations... and Some Catch Up!

I have been having a lot of fun lately doing my little crochet things.
Below is a hat that I crocheted and sent to my niece Tink. I told Raw that I want to see some photos of her in it, but alas, Raw must be deaf! Just kiddn'. She is just a busy momma!
Below here is my first hat and scarf set that I have ever made, and it was a hit! Right as I was finishing it, one of my good friends came over and said that she thought it was cute. It looked way cute on her, and after I sewed the flower on the hat, I brought the set over to her and gave it to her.
Below is a picture of just the scarf.
I LOVE how it turned out!
Below here is an up close photo of the hat with the flower.
The next three photos are just close ups of the flowers on the scarf.
The one below is the large flower.
And the small flower.
Tonight, I have been working on these little headbands. I am going to send them to Raw so she can either post them on her site, or sell them at her craft fair (that B and I may be going to Boise for... if we can!!!).
The bands are about an inch and a half in width, and I think they will look so cute! I am so excited with how they are turning out.
I have other colors to get making, and I am gonna get crack-a-lackin' on some more tonight!
Below is a picture of one of the pumpkins on my front porch.
And again, another pumpkin on my porch.
And here they are together, momma and baby!
I had never seen pumpkins this shape, so when I saw them I bought them. I think they are neat.
In my kitchen I have too halloween decorations that my step mom sent to me. They are cute.
Thanks Bonnie!
In other news, B is so sick. He has a vicious head cold. Today while I was at work he took his temperature and had a fever of a hundred AND three (hot blooded... what a good song). But really, he was at 102.5 degrees. He didn't go to Instacare. He just waited for me to call him after work and asked for some popsicles. His fever is now 99.8. Poor baby.
I hope I don't catch his disgusting, perverted cold!
I have to work again tomorrow, hence my night will be spent doing mundane things like making cute head bands, I may go and jog, but I am not going to a super fun party that our neighbors invited us to :( so sad.
At any rate, that is the latest!
Love to you all!
