OH MY GOSH!!!!

Okay, so I weighed in today and....
I have lost....
7 (that is right) SEVEN pounds.
It has only been 9 days. And I must admit, I haven't been faithful to the workouts.
B has been trying to get our basement ready for the workout room, and lets be honest... sometimes it is hard to say "okay it is time to pop the workout in so I can sweat and be sore".
Perhaps if I had been a little more diligent, the loss number would have been higher, but hey at least I am eating right.
I have compensated my lack of meeting my caloric goal by not having done the exercises, but things change this week.
Workouts are getting done, and more weight is to be lost!

In other news. I am supposed to have the day off today, BUT, of course they scheduled a mandatory work meeting on my day off. My work is notorious for doing that to me. Perhaps they are out to get me, but I have always known that! (har har).
This meeting will be good. Recently we have found that there is A LOT of things that some people have been slacking on, so this will be good to get it out in the air and speak about all of these issues.

Other than that I am still finishing off the final Christmas hats for Yogurt and Krauts families. I know it seems like it is taking forever, but it will get done.
Anyway, that is all for now. I just needed to share my news that I have actually lost weight.
Hooray for me!

A Pair of Hats We Kept :)... and Other News

Things have been going pretty darn good lately. B and I have gone back to work after having some time off. I had to work the last 4 days in a row. And work is super busy these days.
I don't think I clocked out on time once. Just so much to do.

We are both slowly but surely getting used to our new eating habits. The best thing is all of the home cooked/blended meals. We used to eat out a lot, and I thought I would really miss it, but... I don't. I say blended because we have been enjoying our mini blender to make protein shakes. They can be quite tasty. I have made more than B. We really need to get the rest of the ingredients for making the protein bars. Perhaps tonight.

And now, onto hats.

Below is a picture of the hat that B wears most of the time lately. He looks very cute in it!
Below is my very own earflap hat that I keep for myself. I LOVE it.
And here is a skein of yarn that will be another future earflap hat for B. He is going to give me pointers to make this hat even more perfect than the brown hat.
And now.... a side view of B in his beautiful hat and a front view of me.
We are pretty cute hat wearing nuts!
I used the pattern you can find on my side bar (cutest earflap hat pattern) as a starting point. I have altered the pattern just a bit to make it more specific.
Overall, I love making hats. I think it is so fun. I have had a blast so far making them.

B started school again today. I was supposed to start but I found that the class that used to be offered both fall and spring semester is now only offered fall semester. Oh well. I can still get it done and graduate this year.

I don't know that I have much else to say. I really hope that everyone is doing great. We think of our family and friends daily and miss you all.
Much love.

Something NOT Related to the Diet

So if you look really close in the picture below you will see a new lil' guy.
This is Bronco, and no he is not ours. I wish he were. He belongs to a friend of my friend Stacey. He is so darn cute. We were able to watch him while Stacey and Brett were away for an evening while they were dog sitting him... if that makes any sense!
Below here is a photo that demonstrates Gordon's love for his new dog tunnel.
Gordon LOVES it. Arnold not so much. I had to push him into the tunnel and then Gordon tried to eat him at the end.
And here are the brats. I love them though.
Short but sweet and this time with pictures. I hope you enjoyed the post!

Day Three Started with a Battle

Oh my heck! I can't eat as much as the program tells me.
Today I attempted 6 egg whites scrambled together with 2 and 1/2 slices of turkey bacon, 1 cup of yogurt and one serving a protein infused malto-meal.

The eggs were good mind you, but I can't eat eggs very much... I think I choked down close to 5 of the egg whites, B ate the rest, which means I probably only ate 2 pieces of the turkey bacon.
In theory, the idea of malto-meal, sweetened with vanilla flavored protein powder and cooled with skim milk, was good. In actuality, it was awful. The powder frothed up and the taste was awful. I ate half of my serving. B ate the whole thing. He is a stubborn boy though.
The cup of yogurt was the best thing, and I had no problem with that, other than I had to pile it on top of all of the other stuff I had just forced in my belly.

Today my arms are still like butter, my abs are sore, and I have a rug burn on my left knee from my female push-ups, you know the ones I am talking about. The work out was hard yesterday. I am going to do todays workout later... but man oh man, I am a sore woman.

In other news:
We found out that one of our friends are pregnant and due in June. How exciting for them. We haven't seen them since their wedding, but we have missed them often and keep them close to our hearts.

There is not to much else left to say here. Perhaps you will see another whiney blog from me later after I have further tortured myself with another workout. This really is a good thing, I have to keep telling myself... one day at a time, one day at a time.

Much love to all.

Day Two, Stick With Me Now.

We got our media working so we now are able to do the workouts. I did the 'Chest and Back' workout today. Nobody told me that I needed to get fit BEFORE doing the workouts.
My gosh. And the little trainers make it look like it's nothing. The guy that emcee's the workouts is kind of a dork, but oh well.
In looking at the schedule, I need to do that workout again in week two. It will be interesting to compare note. During the workouts they give you time to record your reps and so I did. I am kind of excited to see if I get any better, or when I get better.
The eating is interesting. I did pretty good yesterday. I plan on doing better each day. I never did make my final protein shake last night. I did stop eating after 7:30 PM though. I am not sure if that is a rule with the diet, but good on me.

I now am trying to finish off the hats that I have left to make for christmas presents. I know that they are late, but we weren't at the family Christmas party for B's family. I also just have one more to make for my friends, and then... I guess the hats that I make will go towards my business that I need to get the guts up to create. Are all people this scared before they start something like that? Or am I just a big fat wussy?
It may be both.

As I continue on my diet, I will probably be blogging daily or twice daily... who knows... all I know is that it is a useful tool. So as I have titled this blog just 'stick with me now'.

Just About Made It...

So I am almost complete with day one. I still have one more protein shake to gulp down (oh my). Yeah, I am pretty sure that we aren't supposed to eat passed 8:00 PM, so here I sit at 7:34 PM, blogging, doing anything to keep me from making my one and final shake for the night.
Still need to go get some groceries. We are going to make some protein bars, as to hopefully not have to consume so many shakes. The shakes aren't bad mind you, but they aren't the best thing in the world either.
Our media isn't working for the workouts, so that is one other thing not accomplished. I was supposed to have consumed 2400 calories, but only made it to 2230, after the protein shake that I have yet to consume. Dieting isn't for the light hearted.
My stomach is a little pissed that I am going to cram more stuff in it, but oh well. I am a little pissed at my stomach, so how do you like that?!?
I think being able to blog about my progresses or digresses will be a very vital tool in completing this diet. That and weighing in more often just to show myself that this is not all in vain.
Well, I must go, make my shake, and shake B off the couch so we can get some groceries.
Much love!

Day One

Today is day one of the P90X diet. Somewhat confusing.
We have read over plenty of the information. I have even managed to make a protein shake (23 grams of protein).
There is a lot of information to go through. We are already getting overwhelmed.
HOWEVER:
We took fat pictures last night, so looking at those quickly gets us back on track!
Also, we are lucky. After plugging in the numbers I am at level 2 of the diet and B is at level 3. These are the same as our friends. We are going to pick their brains tonight, hopefully get some grocery shopping done and get this done right.
Honestly? I am supposed to have 7 proteins today, but how many grams of protein is that? I can't find the answer. B tried to answer me based on calories, but that makes no sense to me. Well, just a quick note on how things are going.
Oh, and I found our battery charger for our camera, pretty soon there shall be photos!
Anyway, I will most likely be blogging again later as I find it is a good outlet! Be prepared to be bored, but soon to be dazzled with photos!
