So Much To Say

So oh my gosh it has been FOREVER since I have blogged.
I honestly don't expect anyone to read this as I have been so bad at blogging, but it is truly quite funny for those who are still checking my blog.
Finals are done.
HOORRAAYYYYAAYYEYDYA!
I really only had one that I needed to study for, but it was a killer nonetheless.
I feel good about it, but that doesn't mean anything.
So since I am done with school for a while, I decided to pick up a new hobby.
Crocheting.
One of my residents gave me a beanie hat that she had crocheted and I thought 'Hey, I can do that'.
B loves the hat, so I figured, why not try to do it and make him some more hats.
So, I got some crochet hooks.
These are plastic hooks and they are very cheap.
I went with cheap stuff because I thought there is chance that I am gonna hate crocheting.
Why spend money on something I just might hate?
I also bought some yarn.  4 Skeins of it.
I bought a basic blue color to practice with and will used the multi-colored when I get better.
I was and am really excited about these multi-colored yarns because they are so stinkin' cute.
Anyway, I looked up some basics online and even watched a youtube video about how to crochet a beanie.
Here are my first few attempts:
There are some ladies at work that are very skilled at knitting/crocheting.
They told me to bring in what I had done and they would help me.
I showed them these three beauties.
We laughed and laughed and laughed.
They said that it looked like they might fit on the top of a penis.
I called Delaware later and told him my story and he told me to market them as 'Weanie-Beanies'.
I laughed and laughed and laughed.
The ladies at work told me it may be best to get a beginner book and some hooks that are not plastic.
so off to the craft store I went.
I bought this gem:
Oh yes there is a pattern in there for me to crochet a vest, and it is pretty sic. :)
In addition to the book I bought these aluminum hooks:
From there I learned basic stitches like the single crochet:
And the double crochet:
No it is not supposed to curve.
I did something wrong.
So I tried again:
And again:
And now I was tired.
The above picture is supposed to be a perfect square swatch.
I figured that since it was no longer curving that I would be okay to go on to the beanie hat pattern.
And here it is:
I was so thrilled.
As was B.  His favorite color is blue.
I just finished it last night.
As I was nearing the end of my final row, I told B it was just about ready to tie it off.
He was excited and teased:
"I can't wait to get it on my head."
I replied, "Me too!"
Here is how it fit:

We laughed and laughed and laughed.
I laughed so hard I was bawling.
Oh so funny.
I am gonna try again, but oh my gosh.
So darn funny.
In addition to crocheting, I finally decorated my house for Christmas.
Here is our tree:
It looks better in real life as it has all of B's old ornaments from when he was a kid on it.
I also decorated our table, something I have never really done.
And below is the rest of the decorations in the living room.
My Dad and Teach and my aunt have been so good to give me cute lil' Christmas bowls.
This year I put them all out and loaded them with candy.
It is quite nice to come home to a Christmas decorated house and the ability to eat a piece of candy of any sort from my cute little containers.
We mustn't forget the cutest lil' night light, also a gift from Dad:
This holiday season is fun so far, but still a little bit empty.
I am so used to hearing from Dad.
He and Teach are the ones that inspired me to fill all of my Christmas bowls with candy as that is what they always have had out at their house when we would get there for the holidays.
I love you all dearly and I hope that this blog entry put a smile to all of your faces.
If it didn't, lighten up!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I loved this blog entry. I think you did really well by reading a book--in fact amazing. Your mom would be so proud that you are learning how to crochet. From what I've seen, she was a genius at it. I am glad that you had so much fun. It's so great to laugh.

Well, here it is, the same day you FINALLY blogged and you have three comments. I don't get three comments and I blog every stinkin' day.

I laughed right out loud when I saw the hat on Heed's head. And it's so dang cute too. I am majorally impressed with your great skill and B. head and his disregard for the camera. I would have snorted for sure. All that work!

Keep up the good blogging work.

Did I say I was so impressed? WEll, I am.

Congrats on finishing another semister of school.
